On Sunday 3rd August 2025, Morillon will host a highlight of the women’s cycling season: the final stage of the Tour de France Femmes. A unique opportunity to discover the stunning landscapes of the Giffre Valley and to experience the excitement of a world-class sporting event!
A spectacular Alpine stage: the Col de Joux-Plane in the spotlight
This ninth and final stage of the Tour connects Praz-sur-Arly to Châtel, passing through Morillon
just before the legendary climb of the Col de Joux-Plane. Spanning 11.6 km with an average
gradient of 8.5%, this iconic pass has often been decisive in major cycling races. From its slopes,
you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Mont Blanc, the Morzine valley, and the Haut-Giffre region.
Where to watch the race in Morillon?
Morillon, located just before the Joux-Plane ascent, is a prime viewing spot. Whether in the heart
of the village or along the scenic mountain roads, cheer on the elite riders and enjoy the festive
vibes of this unique day.

- Date: Sunday 3rd August 2025
- Local route: Col de Joux-Plane climb, passing through Morillon towards Samoëns
- Recommended access: Walk, cycle or use the free shuttle buses. Parking is limited during major events.
