7:00 p.m.: Jason Mist - Folk A native of New Caledonia, singer-songwriter Jason Mist is a versatile artist known for his slide guitar playing. His experiences in India and Australia have helped him develop and enrich his music, which reflects who he is; with his eyes and ears wide open to the world. He is guided by humanistic values, which he is committed to sharing. While Jason does not want to limit himself to any single musical genre, the sound he creates is distinctly folk and blues, blended with the rhythms of his native island. 8:15 p.m.: Baba Wazo - French chanson and world music With its three members, Baba Wazo transcends the boundaries between chanson, world music, jazz, and electronic music. Baba Wazo could be an imaginary figure straight out of folk legends, somewhere between the Pied Piper of Hamelin and Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent, and undeniably reminiscent of the Slavic Baba Yaga. A character with prophetic powers, half-man, half-bird, who whispers his melodious songs—filled with raw truths and subtle innuendo—into the ears of anyone willing to listen. Both elusive and defying categorization.
