COMING TO THE GIFFRE VALLEY
BY CAR
From Paris: A6 Motorway Paris – Mâcon, then the Blanche A40 Motorway Mâcon – Cluses. Paris – Morillon takes around 6 hours, for 629 km.
From Lyon: A43 Motorway Lyon – Annecy, then the A41 motorway followed by the Blanche A40 Motorway towards Chamonix. Lyon – Morillon takes around 2 hours, for 197 km.
From the south: From Valence, follow signs for Grenoble, Chambéry then Annecy. A41 Motorway and then the Blanche A40 Motorway towards Chamonix. Nice – Morillon takes around 6 hours, for 597 km.
From the north: Go on the motorway towards Reims, Dijon, Mâcon then the Blanche A40 Motorway Mâcon – Cluses or in Dijon, follow signs to Dole, then Bourg en Bresse, then take the A41 motorway and the Blanche A40 Motorway, take Exit n°18: Cluses Scionzier. Lille – Morillon takes around 7.5 hrs, for 755 km.
From the east: For people coming from Alsace or Franche Comté, the most interesting route is through Switzerland. Some tips for travelling through Switzerland. Strasbourg – Morillon takes around 4.5 hrs, for 455 km.
From Cluses to Morillon: Follow the signs for Samoëns. After the Col de Châtillon mountain pass, you will start seeing signs for Morillon. After leaving the motorway, it takes around 15 minutes.

From Cluses train station to Morillon there is a shuttle service. These buses only go as far as Morillon village, not up to Morillon 1100, Esserts Plateau, if you arrive during the opening times of the cable car, you can use this.
