The Ascent of Sairon

Set out on a fun hike to the summit of Sairon! Once you arrive, enjoy a traditional music performance and an exhibit showcasing pastoral life and the Giffre Valley, before heading back down with your headlamp on. Registration required.

Please meet at the Forum des Esserts for the welcome reception before the hike begins. The hike will start in stages between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Set out to explore the summit of Sairon on a leisurely hike starting from the Esserts resort! This self-paced hike at the end of the day lets you reach the summit at your own pace—whether you’re alone, with friends, or with family. The route, approximately 6 km long with 650 m of elevation gain, follows a marked and safe hiking trail. After a staggered start from the Forum des Esserts, enjoy reaching the summit in a warm and welcoming atmosphere with traditional music, as well as a guided exploration of the Giffre Valley, its natural heritage, and traditional pastoral life led by a mountain guide. A relaxation area will be available at the summit to enjoy the panoramic views and share a friendly moment. The Chalet du Sairon will be open especially for the occasion, offering a traditional menu by reservation. The descent is self-guided; be sure to bring a headlamp.
