Fête des Guides

In Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, the guides are in the spotlight! A parade, music, demonstrations and sharing of mountain sports will punctuate this festive day in the heart of the Haut-Giffre. A fitting tribute to those who love the mountains!

Join in the Fête des Guides! An authentic, festive day in the heart of the Haut-Giffre, between Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. In the morning, head to Samoëns to get the day off to a great start: 10am: Mass in the village church 10:45am: After mass, blessing of ice axes on the Place de la Grenette Until 12pm: Official ceremony and medal ceremony for new guides In the afternoon, we head for the Gorges des Tines, in Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, for a full-scale experience starting at 2pm : - Friendly welcome at the Les Tines parking lot (refreshments offered to visitors arriving by bike or public transport!) - Guided walk through the ancient gorge, with explanations of its fauna, flora and heritage. - Abseiling from the cliff - Introduction to rock climbing - as well as two spectacular zip lines over the gorge A unique day to pay tribute to mountain guides, discover their profession, share their passion... and experience an unforgettable adventure in the heart of the Alps!
