Jean-Michel Ribes takes us on an unusual and adventurous excursion to the Andes Cordillera.
After their plane crashes, a couple who have become anthropophagic in order to survive meet an oddball named Toups, who encourages them to change their relationship with each other and with the world. True to the style and tone that make him the obvious heir to Topor, Tardieu or Obaldia, Ribes presents hilarious situations inspired by a dramatic news story, but treated in a light, offbeat way in the tradition of the boulevard. A political message is nonetheless heard: while criticizing the ravages of ultraliberalism, a field of revolutionary possibilities is glimpsed. It urges us not to retreat behind prejudices and other security reflexes, but to open up to the unknown, to the foreign.
